While the night didn’t end in victory lane, Busch did earn his second top five finish of the season in Trucks as well, crossing the finish line fourth behind series regulars Johnny Sauter, Parker Kligerman and Nelson Piquet Jr. Busch had problems early in the race, with the crew changing the battery under the caution flag beginning on Lap 64; he worked his way back to the front from the 23rd position on the restart.
Germán Quiroga, driving the #51 NET10 Wireless Toyota, qualified 24th with a speed of 176.010 mph (30.680 seconds) in his first race at Texas Motor Speedway. He unfortunately had a short night as engine troubles plagued the three-time NASCAR Mexico champ, finishing 28th after completing just 64 laps.
Next Friday at Phoenix International Raceway, Brian Scott will be behind the wheel of the #18, while Quiroga gets another start in the #51. Follow Saturday’s Nationwide Series action at www.nascar.com and on the KBM Twitter page, or visit www.kylebuschmotorsports.com for the latest news.
