Dover International Raceway post race report

COMPÁRTELO
The Lucas Oil 200 at Dover International Speedway was held on a brutally hot day which magnified this iconic track's nickname, 'The Monster Mile.' While only a mile in length, it can seem a lot longer by the time rubber is laid down and it becomes like driving on ice. The 200 lap race was a handful for the drivers and an edge of the seat race for spectators.

As soon as the green flag dropped trouble found Timothy Peters and John Wes Townley. As the field exited turns three and four a dustup occurred sustaining damage to both the No. 17 Parts Plus Toyota Tundra and No. 7 Zaxby's Toyota Tundra.

Peters brought his Parts Plus Tundra to pit road to fix the right front fender. Under the direction of crew chief, Butch Hylton the stop was a lesson on how to work together and get the Tundra back into racing trim in order to run a competitive race. The Zaxby's Toyota tundra team also showed how to get the job done in putting a truck back on track to run competitively in the top-10.

While all this was going on Germán Quiroga was running a steady race in the top-10 showing patience and restraint in his No. 77 NET 10 Wireless Toyota Tundra. Though his Tundra fought loose conditions, Quiroga battled fiercely with the competition to sustain his track position.

"My NET10 Wireless Toyota Tundra was really good. We qualified in the top-10 and we were running in the top-10 all day. It was tough at the end - those yellow flags really hurt us. On the restarts we were very loose for a couple of laps so we lost a lot of track position on the restarts. We didn't get the top-10 we wanted, but we know we have the speed and we will get a better finish at Texas"

The No. 17 Parts Plus Toyota Tundra collected another solid top-10 finish, finishing sixth. John Wes Townley brought his Zaxby's Toyota Tundra home in 11th while Germán Quiroga ended up with a 13th place finish in his NET10 Wireless Toyota Tundra.

Today's race looks to be a sea change for the Red Horse Racing organization as all the trucks were running in the top-10 position for the majority of the race. All three teams worked together dealing with repairing damages sustained and also handling problems.
