Crafton, 37, won one race in 2013 — at Kansas Speedway — but his overall consistency earned him his first NASCAR championship. Crafton was the only trucks driver to race every lap in 2013, and though he led just 87 of 3,391 laps, he posted seven top-five finishes and 19 top-10 finishes in 22 starts.
Johnny Sauter, No. 98 Toyota
Sauter, who is Crafton’s teammate at ThorSport Racing, won three races in 2013, including the first two at Daytona and Martinsville. But he fell to second place after his team was hit with a 25-point penalty for an unapproved fuel cell at Kansas Speedway, and he never could overtake Crafton. Sauter, 35, who finished fourth in the standings, won the 2010 race at Kansas Speedway.
Darrell Wallace Jr., No. 54 Toyota
Wallace, 20, made history as a rookie in last year’s trucks race at Martinsville when he became the first African American to win a race in one of NASCAR’s three national touring series since Wendall Scott won at Jacksonville, Fla., in 1963. Wallace, a graduate of NASCAR's Drive for Diversity program, finished eighth in the standings in 2013.
Ryan Blaney, No. 29 Ford
Blaney, the 2013 trucks Rookie of the Year, will also compete in 15 Nationwide races and two Sprint Cup events, with the first at Kansas Speedway in May. Blaney, 20, is the son of Sprint Cup veteran Dave Blaney.
Germán Quiroga, No. 77 Toyota
Quiroga, the three-time NASCAR Toyota Mexico Series champion, made 22 starts in 2013. Quiroga, 33, became the first driver from Mexico to win a Camping World Trucks pole last year at Iowa.
