This Week’s Toyota Tundra at Iowa Speedway… On Saturday,Germán Quiroga will race chassis number 007 in the Speediatrics 200. This chassis was last raced earlier this season at Dover International Speedway.

Quiroga at Iowa… Quiroga has three NCWTS starts at Iowa Speedway, with the latest in 2014. He has recorded one pole (July 2013), one top-five and two top-10 finishes at the Newton, Iowa facility, with an average start of 9.7 and an average finish of 8.3.

Race Rewind: Texas… Germán Quiroga earned a top-10 finish at Texas Motor Speedway after returning to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for the first time since the season finale in 2014. Quiroga secured a front row starting spot and on the start, fell back to the eighth position, and soon reported that he was experiencing a tight handling condition in the middle and exit of the corner in his Toyota Tundra. Crew chief Scott Zipadelli encouraged Quiroga to move around the track to find speed, and Quiroga began to climb the leaderboard. By the halfway point in the race, the No. 11 Tundra was in the sixth position and Quiroga reported that he was loose on exit. Under caution on lap 97, The No. 11 team gave Quiroga four fresh Goodyear tires and Sunoco fuel and he left pit road in the fourth position. Quiroga reported that the handling in his Tundra had gotten free and returned to pit road for a final four tire stop under caution on lap 121. He restarted in the seventh position and recorded a solid eighth-place finish.

Germán Quiroga Quote:

“I’m really excited to have the chance to race at Iowa this weekend. It wasn’t originally in the plan, so I’m thankful to Tom DeLoach and Red Horse Racing for giving me this opportunity. I’ve been successful at Iowa in the past, so I’m confident that we’ll have a good Toyota Tundra and be able to pick up a good result.”
